Layli Nazarova

Layli Nazarova covers technology, energy, and biotech, beats where new research, regulation, and public trust all collide.

This summer she's joining The Washington Post's audio team as an Audio Intern. Before that, she worked her way up from audio intern to associate producer of The 21st, Illinois Public Media's daily news and culture show, and spent time as communications lead and multimedia producer for Mondelez International.

She studied journalism and political science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and speaks Russian fluently, which has shaped her interest in energy security, Eurasian politics, and AI policy.
